He hopes to add to this foundation in future years and create forward thinking holistic schools in Africa, completely changing the way children and adults learn, organically adapting to their needs as well as the ever-changing global environment.

Linnaé

Our in-house Interior Architect studied Interior Architecture at the University of Pretoria from 2012 until 2016. She always had a passion for design and anything humanitarian. Architecture became the joint venture of both these aspects.

“Making people’s dreams come true.” Is essentially how Linnaé views her career.

Linnaé believes that architecture helps to shape the environment we live in, and adds to a more comfortable way of living for users. It contributes towards the future society to also gain a glimpse of our history in an art form and the way generations have evolved.

“The interiors of spaces, renders and adds beauty to Architecture.”

“People spend the majority of their time in the Interior of buildings.” That is why Linnaé believes all Interior designers have the responsibility to design functional, comfortable and ergonomically driven spaces while keeping it aesthetically pleasing.

Linnaé has worked on a variety of Interior spaces and Architectural projects. With a broad scope her focus lies in Residential, Retail and Corporate (Office spaces).

We asked some of crew members some fun questions, take a look at their answers below!

Anthony Leonsins

Industrial designer and sales manager

Q: If you could own any product from the CUBE showroom, what would you choose and why?

A: The piece that I would love to own is La Chaise by Charles and Ray Eames designed in 1948, and even today it is still so elegant, a simply timeless chaise lounge. This sensual sculptural piece was inspired by the ‘Floating Figure’ by artist Gaston Lachaise. I just love its sculptural aesthetic combined with its intuitive functionality and how this marriage is so harmonious and poetic.

Q: What is your dream project to be a part of?

A: I would absolutely love to design schools and universities in the future. My dream is to create educational facilities and tools for learning which cater not only to the mind, but to the body and the spirit too. A safe place where a child or adult is free to express themselves, be inspired and learn comfortably without judgement. A place where one can learn empowering life skills and channel their energy constructively and effectively in a way which is best suited to their development and to the overall development of our Earth.

“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” – Socrates

Q: Choose any two people in the world to sit next to you at a dinner party…

A: If I could have dinner with any two people dead or alive it would have to be Leonardo da Vinci and Socrates. I have always been fascinated by da Vinci’s broad scope of work. He was an inventor ahead of his time, known widely as the ‘Universal Genius’. In regards to Socrates, he was considered the Father of philosophy, I am fascinated by philosophy and how the simple aspect of questioning and constructing dialogues has planted the seeds in the fields of science, linguistics, reason and behaviour of humans and how we connect and perceive with the world around us. This would be the most thought provoking and interesting dinner party to attend. A life changing moment.

Linnaé Reyneke

Interior architect

Q: If you could own any product from the CUBE showroom, what would you choose and why?
A: Vitra’s East River Chair by Dutch designer Hella Jongerius. It’s a striking piece of furniture that could fit into any space. With beautiful colour combinations, it’s a fun piece to have in your home.

Q: What is your dream project to be apart of?

A: I would love to design a trendy bar and tapas restaurant underneath the Kaaimans Waterfall, George. All outdoor and adventure enthusiasts would be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery while having a bubbly in hand after a short ten minute row.

Q: Choose any two people in the world to sit next to you at a dinner party…

A: Easy! Princess Diana – for me she was and is the perfect model of compassion, duty and style. And Lana del Rey – her music has a cinematic sound to it, is beautifully written with a lot of depth.

Hannie Wilton

Finance and administration

Q: If you could own any product from the CUBE showroom, what would you choose and why?

A: Difficult choice, but I will go with the Grand Repo designed by Antonio Citterio for Vitra. I fell in love with this chair the first time I saw it when it arrived with CUBE’s first showroom order.

Q: Being a Harry Potter fanatic, what spell would you cast with your (imaginary) wand?

A: Petrificus Totalus (full body-bind curse) – quite a useful spell in the muggle world!

Q: Choose any two people in the world to sit next to you at a dinner party…

A: Agatha Christie, the queen of detective novels. She creates the most fascinating characters and thrilling everyday-life plots; and Clint Eastwood – for being the ultimate no-nonsense hero.
